Horses Visual Acuity

Only now, it dawns upon men that they have propagated a monstrous error in their belief in language. Fortunately, it is too late now to arrest and turn back the evolutionary process of reason, which had its inception in this belief. Logic itself rests upon assumptions to which nothing in the world of reality corresponds. For example, the correspondence of certain things to one another and the identity of those things at different periods of time are assumptions pure and simple, but the science of logic originated in the positive belief that they were not assumptions at all but established facts. Nietzsche (1844-1900)

    • Mammal – Make vision possible
      • Cons (to Color) – work only in bright
      • Rods – sensitive to changes in light/dark
  • Night Vision: Cat > Bat > Horse = Owl = Dog > Human
  • Depth Perception – are generally poor at judging distances but can be trained specifically
    • Only in a binocular field
    • Worse than humans
  • Horses have a third eyelid
  • Colour Vision – Have 2 cons cells ( humans have 3 )

The logic of dreams – In the Dream, this atavistic relic of humanity manifests its existence within us, for it is the foundation upon which the higher rational faculty developed itself and still develops itself in every individual. Dreams carry us back to the earlier stages of human culture and afford us a means of understanding it more clearly –  Nietzsche (1844-1900)
