Quality Sensualist

Anyone who has fully understood from the introductory essay the complete identity of the content of the principle of sufficient reason in all its different forms must also be convinced of the importance of the knowledge of the simplest of these forms, as affording him insight into his own inmost nature. This simplest form of the principle we have found to be time. In it each instant is, only in so far as it has effaced the preceding one, its generator, to be itself in turn as quickly effaced. The past and future (considered apart from the consequences of their content) are empty as a dream, and the present is only the indivisible and unenduring boundary between them.  Arthur Schopenhauer {1788-1860}

The Sensualist

  • Overactive senses – Very responsive to their environment
  • Identification – they cannot stand in a room without sunlight
    • Excited by certain smells
    • depressed by certain colours
  • Seduce like animals – Bait with colours and smells
    • Take to beautiful places
    • Aim for their senses
    • Pay attention to detail
    • Envelop in spectacle

There is a way to represent one’s cause and in doing so to treat the audience in such a cool and condescending manner that they are bound to notice one is not doing it to please them. The principle should always be not to make concessions to those who don’t have anything to give but who have everything to gain from us. We can wait until they are begging on their knees even if it takes a very long time.  SIGMUND FREUD, IN A LETTER TO A PUPIL.

Inner truth. Pigs and fishes. Good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water. Perseverance further. Pigs and fishes are the least intelligent of all animals and therefore the most difficult to influence. The force of inner truth must grow great indeed before its influence can extend to such creatures. In dealing with persons as intractable and as difficult to influence as a pig or a fish, the whole secret of success depends on finding the right way of approach. THE I CHING, CHINA

Seduction

  • Once the victim starts embellishing your image with their fantasies – become hooked
    • Engaging in other’s imaginations
  • Nothing can proceed unless the seducer can attract and hold attention
  • Make victims think there is more to you than what they see
  • The physical presence becomes a haunting mental presence
  • The seducer needs to mix signals – pure goodness is anti-seductive
    • Only powerful strategy when hinted
    • First encounter – advertised in your manner – not words
    • Quality I V.s. Quality II
      • Quality I – Witty, intellectual, innocent/ brash
      • Quality II – Sad, spontaneous, shy, devilish, throw a glimpse of something else

One must first rid oneself of all prejudice and, so to speak, let the psyche of the other person act on one without restraint. Then one will establish contact with him, understand and gain power over him. When a door has been thrust opened, the force of one’s personality will influence him. If in in this way one finds no obstacles insurmountable, one can undertake even the most dangerous things, such as crossing the great water, and succeed.THE I CHING, CHINA
